Caroline had a great first Christmas! Mom and Dad made a nice dinner on Christmas Eve, then read some Christmas stories to Caroline before she went off to bed anticipating Santa's arrival. (Santa had to make an emergency run to the convenience store about 9:30 p.m. because he and Mrs. Claus forgot batteries.)
As usual, Caroline was the first awake on Christmas morning. Because she's been a good girl, Santa visited our house that night and gave her some toys, clothes and books. She also got much of the same from Mom and Dad.
We had cinnamon rolls and took a family nap before video conferencing with Grandmommie, Granddad and Tia in San Antonio. Then we loaded up the car and drove to Allen to visit Grandma Dee and Paw Paw, as well as aunts, uncles and cousins. And Caroline did great on the car ride, sleeping all the way to Hillsboro.
We had Christmas dinner and gift openings on the 26th (which was also Caroline's eight-month birthday) and then had a fun-filled day of playing with toys and spending time with family. We headed back to Austin on the 27th so Caroline could play with all her new toys.
Over New Years, we'll see Grandmommie, Grandad and Tia in San Antonio.
