Big Scare

Saturday was a very scary day for Mommy and Caroline...and not because of the Longhorns' performance against Baylor. Daddy went to Waco to watch the game, but Mommy and Caroline stayed home. After Caroline's nap, we were getting set up to wrap presents in the living room when Mommy noticed something was wrong with Dixie. As soon as Mommy saw her, she started calling vets all over Austin. We ended up at a great emergency animal hospital in South Austin who diagnosed the issue and got Dixie all fixed up. Caroline was EXTREMELY upset to have to leave Dixie alone at the vet's office so they gave her some papers she could color. Below is the beautiful art Caroline did for Dixie. Notice how she wrote Dixie's name all by herself.

When we got Dixie home, Caroline decided that she must be hungry so she started feeding Dixie her food and treats by hand. For anyone who is wondering, the soft collar did not go over well with Dixie. Mommy found it buried in the litter box the next two mornings. Lovely....Message received, Dixie.

We are so glad Dixie is okay. She gave us a big scare, but she's one tough kitty after all. We love you, Dixie Bell!
